The IRONMOB Program is a 14+ month health and wellbeing journey grounded in cultural and social connection, community and teamwork.Designed to empower First Nations people to achieve what may once have felt impossible, the program provides personalised coaching, mentoring and dedicated support to guide participants on their journey to becoming IRONMAN and IRONWOMAN athletes.Across the program, participants take part in six training and race camps held in different locations around Australia. These camps use a scaffolded approach to progressively build skills, confidence and capacity, ensuring each athlete is supported to successfully complete an IRONMAN triathlon.IRONMOB athletes are backed by the strength of community, sponsors and the TRIMOB network. TRIMOB covers travel and accommodation for all camps, as well as event entry costs, ensuring financial barriers do not prevent participation.Participants also receive ongoing coaching and mentoring, with opportunities to gain accredited AusTriathlon coaching qualifications, creating pathways for leadership and giving back to community through sport. The IRONMOB Program is more than training for a race — it is about strengthening mind, body and spirit, inspiring community, and showing what is possible for Mob.

The IRONMAN triathlon is widely regarded as one of the toughest one-day endurance events in the world. To complete it, an athlete must swim 3.8km, cycle 180km and run a full marathon (42.2km) — all within 17 hours.
Australia has a proud IRONMAN history, with tens of thousands of athletes crossing the finish line and multiple world champions crowned. Yet, prior to the creation of IRONMOB, we knew of only twelve First Nations people who had ever completed an IRONMAN triathlon.
The IRONMOB program is changing that story.
In just two years, IRONMOB has doubled the number of First Nations IRONMAN finishers — proving that when the Mob is supported and empowered, anything is possible.
An IRONMAN is more than a race; it is a transformation. Running down that finish chute represents strength, determination and resilience — not just for the individual athlete, but for community.
Every First Nations athlete who crosses an IRONMAN finish line expands what is possible for our people and inspires others to believe: if they can do it, I can too.IRONMOB is about creating that ripple effect across communities — igniting belief, building pride and demonstrating the power of culture, community and movement.
